Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how MemoSip ("MemoSip," "the app," "we," or "us") collects, uses, shares, and protects information. MemoSip is operated by Mustafa Kuk. It is a visual drink journal and community where people can record, rate, and discover beverages.
Information we collect
Account and profile information
You may use guest access or sign in with Apple or Google. Depending on the method you choose, we process a Firebase user identifier and may receive your name, email address, and profile image from the sign-in provider. If you use Sign in with Apple and hide your email, Apple supplies a private relay address. We also store profile information you choose to provide, such as a display name, username, biography, city, avatar, and drink interests.
Drink entries and user content
We collect the content you choose to save: drink and brand names, photos, ratings, tasting notes, category, serving amount, price, temperature, flavor preferences, venue, time, visibility, favorites, lists, likes, follows, reports, and blocks. Selected photos are resized and converted to a compact JPEG data string before being stored with the entry in Google Firebase Firestore.
Location and venue information
You may type a venue or choose a nearby place for a drink entry. If you grant location permission and use a nearby-place or map feature, the app may process your foreground location to return relevant places or associate a location with an entry. Location is not collected in the background. You can deny or revoke permission in device settings.
Technical information
Firebase Authentication and Firestore process technical information needed to operate and secure the service, such as account identifiers, authentication events, request metadata, and timestamps. We do not use advertising identifiers and do not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.
How we use information
- Provide authentication, profiles, journals, discovery, maps, lists, and social features.
- Store and display entries according to the visibility you select.
- Personalize taste summaries and recommendations based on your activity.
- Prevent abuse, investigate reports, enforce our rules, and secure the service.
- Respond to support, privacy, and account-deletion requests.
- Comply with legal obligations and protect users and the public.
Public and shared content
Public entries and their associated profile name, photo, rating, note, venue, and interactions may be visible to other users. Friends-only entries are intended for accepted connections. Only Me entries are intended to be visible only to your account. Do not post sensitive personal information in public content.
Legal bases
Where applicable, we process information to perform our agreement with you, based on your consent (for example, device permissions), for our legitimate interests in operating and securing MemoSip, and to comply with law. You may withdraw permission through device settings, although some features may then be unavailable.
Service providers and sharing
We do not sell personal information. We share information only as described here:
- Google Firebase provides authentication and the Firestore database. See Firebase Privacy and Security.
- Apple and Google provide optional sign-in services and process information under their own privacy policies.
- Public content is shared with other MemoSip users according to your selected visibility.
- We may disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, or in connection with a lawful business transfer.
Data retention
We retain account information and saved content while your account remains active or as needed to provide MemoSip. Reports and security records may be kept for a reasonable period to prevent abuse, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Service providers may retain limited backup copies for a short period under their standard backup cycles.
Your choices and rights
You can edit profile information, choose entry visibility, revoke device permissions, report or block users, and delete your account in the app. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, export, restrict, object to, or delete personal information. Contact us to make a request. We may need to verify your identity.
Account deletion
Open Profile → Settings → Delete My Account and All Data and confirm. This deletes the Firebase Authentication account and associated profile, entries, lists, likes, follows, and blocks. You can also request help at mstfkuk@gmail.com. See the account-deletion instructions.
Security
We use HTTPS, Firebase security controls, access rules, and reasonable organizational safeguards. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.
International processing
Our service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, they use legal safeguards for international transfers.
Children's privacy
MemoSip is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum digital-consent age in their country. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below that age. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as MemoSip changes. We will revise the effective date and provide additional notice when required by law.
